Class Descriptions

Lindy 100 – 8:00pm

Perfect for beginners! This course will cover the basic fundamentals of swing, rotating between 6-count and 8-count movements each month.

May 6-Count, Jun: 8-Count, Jul: 6-Count, Aug: 8-Count

All-levels welcome, no partner or experience necessary.

> Move up to Lindy 150
Our learning recommendation is to take the 100 Class for both series, before moving on to Lindy 150. Approximately 2 months.

Lindy 150 – 8:00pm

Developed for beginners looking to refine their technique. This class focuses on partnering (lead/follow), advanced rhythms and Charleston, and combining swing rhythms.

Prerequisite: Completion of at least 1-2 months of the Lindy 100 series.

> Move up to Lindy 200
Our learning recommendation is to take Lindy 150 class for about 6 months before moving up to Lindy 200. 

Lindy 200 – 7:00pm

This series is focused on social dancing skills, emphasizing vocabulary, connection, and technique.

Prerequisite: Have taken at least 6 months of the Lindy 150 series and covered all three rhythms (6-Count, 8-Count, Charleston), and swing fundamentals, or have equivalent dance experience and permission from the teacher to join.

What is Lindy Hop?

Lindy Hop, the original swing dance, is a social dance that originated in the 1920s–40s at the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York. Improvisational, playful, and highly rhythmic, this dance is defined by music of the Big Band era including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Benny Goodman.
