Soul Sunday: West Coast Swing Social

A monthly indoor picnic and West Coast Swing social! Fill your Soul by Gathering & Sharing together in this afternoon event. Featuring rotating DJs, pop-up learning sessions, and a potluck picnic.

Bring a friend, bring something to share! “we all have something to bring and share with others”. 

We’ll have tables set up for a picnic area to gather together, so feel free to bring an activity or snack/food to share. The social is included with our Beginner Boot Camp, so this afternoon is also a wonderful time to meet new dancers and welcome them into the community. Come dance and share in friendship together. Schedule – Community Celebration Day [Aug 2nd]

• 3:00–5:00pm – WCS Beginner Boot Camp with Dario (separately ticketed)
• 3:00–4:00pm – Seminar with Dr. Sam Greenblatt “Learning Styles” (included with Social admission) 
• 4:00–5:00pm – Open Practice with Galen & Kat with Swingiversity (included with Social admission) 
• 5:00–7:30pm – Social dance with DJs Bekah & Ajay
• 6:00–7:00pm – Instructors available for $10 for 10’s (Quick Feedback/Tuneup Sessions) sign up in person!

Class Descriptions

3:00pm Beginner Boot Camp

Launch into West Coast Swing in an all-inclusive boot camp. Go from zero experience to a strong foundation with expert instruction in just two hours. You will learn the basics and fundamentals of West Coast Swing, with ample time for practice and application. For the best preparation before Level 2, take the Beginner Boot Camp twice, or pair it with a month of our Level 1 classes. No partner or experience needed.

3:00pm Seminar 

Join Psychologist, Dr. Sam Greenblatt for a seminar on “Learning Styles” and how this impacts your mindset within your dance journey. Discover ways to optimize education in dance for folks whose brains operate in different ways (particularly ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder). Learn how to learn as he teaches how to teach!

4:00pm Open Practice 

Join instructors, Galen & Kat from Swingiversity for an open practice session. Ask questions, work on skills with other dancers, practice drills or just hang out before the social. Recommended for WCS dancers at Level 2 or above. If you’re new, check out the Beginner Boot Camp from 3-5pm.
