Class Descriptions

Level 1: Beginner – Thursdays 6:30pm

A progressive series designed to get you started in West Coast Swing! If you’re new to WCS, this class is perfect for you. We will go over in depth all of the basic 6-count patterns with a couple of variations for each pattern. No partner or experience needed. You’ll learn:

• Week 1: Left-side pass, Left-side pass w/ inside turn, Sugar Push, Sugar Push w/ inside turn, + variations, extensions, hand/frame changes
• Week 2: Right-side pass, Tuck Turn, Sugar Push, + variations, extensions, hand/frame changes
• Week 3: Left-side pass, Left-side pass w/ Tuck turn, Sugar Push, + variations, extensions, hand/frame changes
• Week 4: Right-side pass, Right-side pass w/ outside turn, Sugar Push, + variations, extensions, hand/frame changes

Recommended to join at the beginning of the month, but open to drop-ins any week. > Move up to Level 2 Our learning recommendation is to take the Level 1 Class for an entire 4-week (1 month) series.

Level 2: Advanced Beginner – Wednesdays 8pm

Learn the basic eight-count patterns, advanced variations, footwork, and technique. No partner needed. Prerequisite: Have attended Level 1 for all 4-weeks of class content or have learned all of the basic 6-count patterns. > Move up to Level 3 Our learning recommendation is to take the Level 2 Class for the entire 24-week (6 months) series.

Level 3: Intermediate – Wednesdays 7pm

We will focus on musicality and advanced concepts of West Coast Swing. No partner needed. This will be a progressive series to join at the 1st week of every month. (Participants who would like to join after the 1st week are welcome to attend at the teacher’s discretion). Prerequisite: Have covered all of the class content for Level 2 (approx. 24 classes), or have permission to join from the instructor. (It is recommended to join at the beginning of the series).
